Project meeting in Padua Italy, May 2008

The second SUS-EMAS project meeting was held in Padova Italy, the 15th – 17th of May 2008, with the participation of the students and teachers from the Austrian, French, German, Romanian, Turkish partner schools and the participation of teachers from Belgium partner school. Liceo Scientifico Statale "A. Cornaro" hosted the project meeting.

During the project meeting, there were organized many activities, which all supported us, students and teachers, in establishing an intercultural dialogue & friendship and also in deepening our knowledge in the project's topic and in producing the common products.

In terms of sustainability, the new things students have you found out during this project meeting:

I saw that something which we consider useless can be used. For instance, plastic bottles and glasses can be used as musical instruments. (TR)

The problem of water was repeatedly mentioned, as something above all resources. Also, resources were another emphasized issue - especially the problem of renewable energy. (RO)

There are a lot of things apart from Turkey. For example, there are a lot of rubbish bins which are categorized. (TR)

We can choose food from fair-trade to support these countries. We can have a sustainable breakfast every day. (IT)

I have found the Romanian breakfast and how to prepare it, different Romanian meals; this is very interesting for the culture. (FR)

Buy products of the season, buy from local farmer. (IT)

Breakfast in Turkey: bread, tea and coffee; breakfast in Germany. (FR)

I don’t remember everything now, but I learned lots of new things during this project meeting. The Italian school has lots of projects for sustainability. (FR)

I had found things I never saw- like salted breakfast. I saw that all countries do the same things in terms of sustainability. (FR)
